It is fought in three phases, which transform into a humanoid figure after each fight these forms are Majora's Mask, Majora's Incarnation and Majora's Wrath. Majora's Mask serves as the final boss of the game, after Link restores the Skull Kid to his senses. Link's partner Tatl reveals that she, her brother Tael and Skull Kid stole the mask to prank people with its powers, but slowly noticed Skull Kid's behavior change to the point where his harmless mischief became intentional acts of malice (like turning Link into a Deku Scrub), this as a result of the mask's influence on him. They return with a more prominent role in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, where Link can utilize their powers to save the alternate world of Termina from the game's namesake antagonist. Masks in general first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as part of an optional side-quest where Link can sell masks for the Happy Mask Salesman in Hyrule Castle Town and obtain the final one.
